  • The envy of America

Sometimes we get caught up in our own little world that revolves completely around our own interests and we forget that not everyone is like us. We forget that not everyone is a young (striving) entrepreneur, a marathon runner, artistic prodigy or even goal-driven for that matter. Once in a while, you need to step outside that world and realize that, in no small way, you are the American Dream. Now you may have not sold your first company for a billion dollars before the age of 25 or been on the cover of The New York Times yet, but you are following your dreams and letting little stand in its way. This is both the classic and modern version of the American Dream and so few people are living that dream. We have so much at our disposal these days that people have become complacent and have little meaning to their lives. Because of that, there is becoming a new ‘one percent’ category in America, and instead of being the one percent that owns the country’s wealth, we are becoming the one percent that owns our country’s dreams. The driven, successful life is a dream to most people but then they realize that American Idol is on in five minutes and they go back to being numb to their world, their life, and their passions. Remember this the next time you give a presentation, the next time you’re presenting at your art show, or trying to pull in that next client. You are what everyone dreams to be. No matter if you haven’t had any huge, national front page-worthy successes yet, you are following your passion and that is more than a very large percentage of the most successful nation in the history of the world can say about themselves. So be proud of yourself, even if you’re almost broke and you have a lifetime of achievement left to go. You are the envy of America.
